This notice explains how Perks of Habit handles information when you use the planner, follow product links or contact us.
Planner answers
Your goals, budget, preferences and plan stay in this tab’s memory. They are not saved to browser storage, sent to our server or sent to an AI service. Reloading starts over. The browser requests the catalog and site files; those requests do not include your planner answers.
Hosting and request logs
AWS Amplify hosts this site. AWS receives connection and request information needed to deliver pages, including your IP address and requested URL. Hosting access logs can contain URLs and other request details, so avoid putting private information in a page address. AWS states that Amplify access logs are retained until the hosted app is deleted. Our separate CloudWatch compute logs are configured for 30-day retention; that setting does not shorten Amplify access-log retention. See AWS’s access-log documentation.
Optional Google Analytics
On perksofhabit.com, Google Analytics loads only after you allow usage measurement in the planner or product catalog. Declining leaves the site usable. Global Privacy Control, Do Not Track and operator exclusions suppress measurement.
After opt-in, GA4 can receive page views, planner starts, catalog browsing, provisional results, result categories and source or merchant link clicks. Events use a small set of identifiers such as product, merchant, entry flow and application version. We do not send planner answers, exact budgets, free text or complete referral URLs. Google also receives cookie identifiers, browser/device information and connection information, including the IP address used to make the request. This is not anonymous-data collection.
Our configuration disables Google Signals, advertising personalization and enhanced measurement. Google explains its processing in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Storage and retention
- Your allow/decline choice is stored in local browser storage and honored for 60 days. Expired choices require a new choice; browser storage may retain the old entry until it is replaced or cleared.
- Consented measurement uses first-party cookies configured for up to 60 days without extending their expiry on activity. Browsers may remove them sooner.
- Session storage holds measurement activity flags and a timestamp, not your answers. An inactivity period of 30 minutes starts a new local activity period.
- GA4 event and user-level retention is set to two months with activity renewal off. Aggregated reports may be retained longer.
Change your choice
Use Measurement preferences in the planner or product catalog to review your choice. Turning measurement off stops future collection and clears this site’s measurement cookies and tab measurement state. It does not erase data already received by Google. The decline preference remains so it can be respected; you can also clear site data in your browser.
Usage measurement is off for this visit. On a standalone policy page, measurement does not load. Your planner’s settings are available in its footer when measurement is enabled there.
Merchant links and contact
Source and purchase links open other websites, which use their own privacy policies. If you email us, your email provider and the receiving provider process your address and message. You can find our email address on the Contact page. There is no contact form on this site.
